About Accent Brazil
Founded in 2012, by Meyre Pedroso Santos, Accent Brazil was established in response to a simple yet powerful realization: that the genuine desires and practical needs of clients spoke louder and were more "rounded" than the confines of the traditional "square classroom."
Our foundation lies on the principle of prioritizing the authentic desires and real-world application of learning over a rigid, traditional, one-size-fits-all approach. We focus intently on fluidity and delivering the skills our learners truly need to achieve their goals, embodying a clear rejection of stiff, theoretical, or overly formalized learning environments. We pride ourselves on being a highly flexible, client-focused, and results-oriented business.
The distinguishing feature of our lessons is the application of Neurolinguistics and Neuroscience principles, and concepts and exercises of Awareness Through Movement (ATM) embedded in the lessons that “you can barely notice how much you learn in a few weeks" (Lara Bourdin. See full testimonial in the home page).
"Since I started teaching, I've been empowering students like you to unlock their full language potential through the Open Flexible Approach. There's nothing more rewarding than hearing my students proudly share how they've surpassed their own learning goals and discovered a new passion for communication."
- Meyre, Founder and Teacher
Born and raised in Bahia, one of Brazil's most vibrant and culturally rich states located in the Northeast, Meyre moved to Toronto, Canada, in 2008. Before moving to Toronto, she also lived in the city of São Paulo for nine years, and worked in Belo Horizonte for seven, experiencing the diverse accents of the Portuguese language in Brazil.
Meyre's academic background forms the bedrock of her expertise:
1997: Graduated with a degree in Education, International Languages, and Linguistics from the University of Bahia, Brazil.
2008: Earned a Canadian Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language.
2012: Accent Brazil was founded when clients' desires spoke louder and rounded than the "square" classroom they were in.
